This weekend’s trip saw more preparatory work. We prepared another potato row, having decided that the chitting progress didn’t quite justify planting yet. We also prepared and covered the courgette/squash patch with weed suppressant membrane so that it is now ready for planting. We also rough dug the two sweet corn patches.
Thus far there is plenty of hard graft going in, but not much in the way of plants. In one way this is a good thing as on our first visit we noticed rabbit scrapes in the hedge adjoining our plot and almost all of the other plots have some sort of anti rabbit barrier, so we will have to sort this out before we get plants in that merely offer lunch for the local bunnies.
